What is WP Global Cart
The Cart
The cart is maintained globally across all shops rather than for single sites. A customer can shop across all stores without losing the products he had added to the cart. Any products (simple, variable, grouped, external, etc.) can be used with the global cart functionality.
The global cart saves the user considerable time and improves the experience on the network.
The products inside the cart are eventually brought to a checkout out on the same page, either at a specific shop or anywhere in the network, depending on plugin configuration.
Templates
There are no special requirements for WooCommerce theme templates. The plugin uses filters and functions to achieve functionality.
No theme files modification is required. Everything is managed internally using WordPress and WooCommerce filters and actions. Easy code extension can be implemented if required, without worrying about breaking anything. The plugin follows Codex rules to ensure maximum compatibility with other code.
The plugin has been tested with a long list of WooCommerce compatible themes to ensure the code can integrate perfectly.
The Checkout
The process is identical to the default checkout, except it includes all cart content, even products from other shops, which customer previously added to shopping cart. On the checkout page, the address information will be auto-filled as usual if the user is logged-in.
Depending on the set-up type, the checkout process can occur at:
- At every shop which include a product in the car
- At a specified shop
- Anywhere in the network.
This is being controlled through the admin settings. Using a single shop for checkout makes order management much easier since everything will be found on a single page, rather than spread out in a network.
Checkout uses the same configuration for the shop that is being used. Any coupons, shipping rates, shipping classes, etc., are being inherited from the current shop.
WordPress and WooCommerce Compatibility
The plugin has been tested extensively in different environments, including different WordPress and WooCommerce versions to ensure compatibility. It does not require special server configuration. If can run WordPress, the code will run just fine.
Preinstallation requirements:
- WordPress 4.4 and higher (MultiSite enabled)
- WooCommerce 3.0 and higher
The plugin is very well maintained. For many years now, updates and new features are implemented all the time. A changelog is available.
Global Users
Users are managed globally on the network, meaning anyone can log-in and use credentials at any shop within the multi-site environment. This is a huge improvement in the user experience as they can use the same credentials for all domains in the network.
Users can access the My Account section anywhere eon network, through which can see all previous orders, downloads etc.
UNIQUE ORDERS INTERFACE FOR EASY MANAGEMENT
To facilitate the efficient management of orders spanning multiple shops within the network, the plugin offers a unified interface accessible through the superadmin dashboard. This consolidated interface conveniently aggregates all orders from every shop in one central location. Its design and functionality mirror that of the default WooCommerce Orders area, ensuring a familiar and user-friendly experience. Additionally, this interface is enhanced with extra filters and features for more comprehensive order management.
It’s worth noting that the plugin seamlessly integrates with the new WooCommerce HPOS (High Performance Order Storage) system, enhancing order processing efficiency. Even if this system is not active for a specific shop, the plugin can seamlessly handle the traditional table structure, ensuring flexibility and compatibility across different setups.
Product Synchronization
Within the MultiSite environment, the plugin offers a powerful feature that allows you to effortlessly replicate specific products from one shop to other sites in the network. It’s important to note that product synchronization is optional and not a mandatory requirement for the functionality of other aspects of the plugin.
This synchronization feature enables you to propagate any modifications made to a parent product across all synchronized shops within the network. It ensures a comprehensive synchronization of all product data, encompassing descriptions, prices, product images, product galleries, downloadable items, categories, tags, shipping classes, tax classes, and more. Additionally, the capability to synchronize stock levels across the product hierarchy enhances inventory management efficiency.
Moreover, the plugin provides a remarkable degree of flexibility in the replication process through programmable filters. This means you have the option to customize and fine-tune the synchronization process to meet your specific needs, adding an extra layer of adaptability to this valuable feature.
Custom Domains
Assign custom domains ( TLDs ) to your shops in the network, the plugin helps to implement and manage custom domains with no additional code required.
Or the MultiSite can run the default using Subdomains or Subdirectories format.
GLOBAL SEARCH ACROSS ALL SHOPS
Maximize product exposure through Global Search functionality. On a customer search run, the query returns results from all shops in the network. This feature integrate perfectly with any theme search interface, whether using a customized theme or the default WooCommerce theme.
GLOBAL PRODUCTS DISPLAY
Display Products that belong to other shops in the network, within a specific site through WooCommerce Shortcodes, using the local theme layout or a customized template.
Specify through a WooCommerce Shortcode attributes like sites, categories, search key, price range, order type, items per page, etc.
Global Reports
Ensure your e-commerce business’ success by knowing your customers and how they behave, as well as what and when they buy. Expand the potential of your business by making specific adjustments according to data from the reports.
WooCommerce’s reports contains some key business metrics that you need to keep an eye on. Retrieve detailed information about all shops in the network regarding sales, popular products, customers, customers download activity and stock levels.
PERFECTLY SUITED TO AN EXISTING OR NEW MULTISITE ENVIRONMENT
There’s no set up required for WordPress Multisite, the code runs out of the box, with existing configuration, with shops being accessible through subdomains, subfolders or individual domains.
New shops can be created and existing shops can be edited without interfering with the existing structure and configuration in any way.
